Nurturing legacy bloodlines
Dedication to the betterment of the breed
At Iroq Amstaffs, our commitment to the American Staffordshire Terrier breed goes beyond passion; it encompasses a dedication to ethical breeding practices that prioritise health, temperament, and the betterment of the breed.
From the whelping process to the lifelong well-being of our dogs, each decision is guided by a deep love for the Amstaffs we raise and a commitment to producing exceptional companions for loving homes.
Behaviour and socialisation
At Iroq Amstaffs, every puppy is nurtured and raised within the comfort of our home.
The dam is with them the entire time, providing constant care and attention, taking short breaks as needed.
Our puppies benefit from socialisation with other Amstaffs from our kennels, ensuring that they grow up well adjusted and friendly. Furthermore we provide an socially enriching environment by having our grandchildren and friends actively play and engage with both the puppies and the rest of our Amstaffs.

Training and support
For our puppy buyers, we provide a comprehensive 4 week puppy preschool, offering valuable insights and guidance for a smooth transition into their new homes.
Additional classes are available upon request.
In instances where adult Amstaffs are re-homed, we extend an offer of 2 free training classes for the new family. We are dedicated to supporting a positive transition and fostering strong bonds between our Amstaffs and their caregivers.

Health practices
Every potential parent at Iroq undergoes a thorough health screening to receive clearance to be part of our esteemed breeding program. Our health tests are overseen and performed by the team at Kudah vetinarian, who provide valuable insights and feedback on the results.
Puppies are introcuced to solid foods around day 14, starting with small amounts of Royal Canin starter mousse and gradually transitioning to a full diet over the following days. We respect the natural nurturing process, allowing the Dam to feed her pups for as long as she wishes.
Regardless of age or show team participation, every dog receives the same high quality diet. For our newborns, a vet check is conducted within 24 hours of birth, and dew claws are removed by the vet at 3 days. Regular worming occurs every two weeks, and at the age of 6 weeks, we get the puppies microchipped and vaccinated.
